Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology

The Applied Psychology major at Penn State Hazleton is designed for students who want to learn about human behavior, scientific research methods, and how psychological knowledge may be applied in real-world settings.   Students take course work in the areas of 
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Developmental Psychology
  • Social and Organizational Psychology
  • Psychology of Well-Being

The Applied Psychology major emphasizes a strong background in current scientific knowledge and  research skills. During the third and fourth years, students complete off-campus internships in applied settings of their choice to put their knowledge and skills to work. The Applied Psychology major prepares students for  careers in clinical settings, social service agencies, research organizations, or businesses. Students may also go on to graduate or professional school in Psychology, Human Services, or Business.
